As I sit here typing this and watching the snow coming down, I know there will be some cancellations. Stay safe out there & check with your dance venue to be sure they’re open.
Please remember to keep dancing! Those dance locations sometimes disappear if attendance drops too much. Also, if you’re dancing in a bar or restaurant, they expect you to buy something, not just dance for free. They are not in business to provide you with a good time for free.
Please note that the differences in font and appearance of various events is not my intention. For some reason, copying and pasting causes issues with my word processing and moving it to this site. It all looks the same to me on my document and then when copied here, it changes. It's annoying, but I have not figured out what to do about it, short of retyping the entire document, which I'm not going to do.
Because snow is not the only thing that sometimes cancels events, please know the cancellation policy of the events you attend. Several go with what the schools do in the country they are in for weather events, so you need to know what county. If the organizer of your favorite events have a contact list, get on it, Many use Facebook, so if you don’t have that, you may need to depend on others.
The calendar page hasn’t been updated for quite a while. If there are things missing or incorrect, please let me know. I generally put things in that happen on a regular basis so that I don’t need to update too often.
Feel free to fill me in on whatever you know is happening that I don’t have listed here If you send info, please give me as much as you can about it, including where to find the information so that I may update later.
I don’t include weekly band information for the clubs that have bands as it is frustrating and time-consuming. So, if you’re interested in what band is where, you’ll need to check the clubs’ websites or Facebook pages. If there are bands you follow, you can check their pages as well.
COVID regulations are changing and I am not trying to keep up with the changes. I suggest you take a mask along in the event one is required. There are some dances that do require proof of vaccination or advance purchase of tickets, so you’ll want to check on that.

American Legion in Springfield, VA – Laurie Armstrong is teaching and playing music for dancing, both couples and lines. Lessons at 6:30pm; Open dance until 9:30pm, $10pp, 6520 Amherst Ave, Springfield, VA 22150. I believe I read that Laurie is going by what Fairfax schools do with weather. She does cancel occasionally. I don’t usually find out about it until it’s too late to pass along the information. She posts on Facebook and has a email list for announcements. NO Dancing 1/15
