About Linda Bloyer

Hi Fellow Country Dancers!

I've been dancing in the DC/Baltimore/So. MD area since late 1992. Until they changed format in 2002, I danced most of the time at Spurs in Waldorf. I taught 2 Step & West Coast Swing there the last couple of years. I also danced at Cherry Hill for a long time on Wednesdays, Blackie's, and a few other places occasionally. Starting in 2003 and until the shutdown for COVID, and subsequent sale of the club,  I taught couples' dances at Nick's in Alexandria, first with Lloyd Thompson & then with Rich Mahan. I also teach once a month at Country By The Bay and at NVCWDA dances twice a month..

My newsletter began in 2002 as a way for the former patrons of Spurs to stay together & know where to find each other. Since that time the recipient list has grown to over 400 people & continues to grow. My focus is country dancing, but I also put in some swing & hustle events, especially those that might also play a few 2 Steps. I owe some of those organizers for the lessons I learned from them as I came along as a dancer as well as for much of the information I use in the newsletter.

If you'd like me to add your name to my list, please send your name & email to me at lbloyer@yahoo.com or lbloyer@friendsofcountrydance.net (This one doesn't always work!).  You can also contact me through the Friends of Country Dance Facebook page or Dancin' With Linda FB page..  Please include something about dance news in the subject line. I am now using an email program to send the emails, but you still need to subscribe through me.

Also, if you know of an event I should include, please let me know. I depend on many of my readers to help me with new listings, as well as when events change or disappear.

I hope you find the newsletter interesting & helpful.
