Dance News 3/14/22

Mar 14th , 2022

Hi Everyone,

What a weekend for weather! Glad it’s warming up again. I still wouldn’t bet against snow, but at least it won’t last long. Happy St. Patrick’s Day. Please celebrate safely. There are a number of dances that are celebrating this week.

However, we are still in the season where the weather can impact events, please know the cancellation policy of the events you attend. Several go with what the schools do in the country they are in, so you need to know what county. If the organizer of your favorite events have a contact list, get on it, Many use Facebook, so if you don’t have that, you may need to depend on others.

Many of the dances canceled due to COVID are open again.

The calendar on the website is mostly caught up. There are things I still don’t know about, but I have noted that I have no information. I have a few newer events to add.

Feel free to fill me in on whatever you know is happening that I don’t have listed here  If you send info, please give me as much as you can about it, including where to find the information so that I may update later.

I don’t include weekly band information for the clubs that have bands. Trying to keep up with that is time-consuming and often frustrating as the clubs don’t always do a good job of updating their information. So, if you’re interested in what band is where, you’ll need to check the clubs’ websites or Facebook pages. If there are bands you follow, you can check their pages as well.

With the current state of COVID, there are more changes in mask and vaccination requirements. I can’t keep up with it all. My best advice is be prepared to wear, or at least take, a mask wherever you go. If you’re vaccinated, take the card with you too. I am not at all sure that some of the rules I have listed in some events are still correct. I suggest that you contact whichever event organizer you’re interested in attending to find out what the rules are for that location.  Keep in mind that some events have now shut down again due to the COVID numbers.
