Hi Everyone,
It seems there is a little dance news to share regarding events that are not online.
- Cancun Cantina is scheduled to reopen this Friday, July 24, with Wesley Spangler & his band onstage. Both inside and outside bars are to be open. However, there is a 50% capacity limit. They say they are following CDC guidelines, but I have not seen the specifics as of yet. This is billed as The Original Cancun Cantina. It’s my understanding that they have the original owner back and have redone whatever changes were made under the recent ownership. You can find the information at http://www.theoriginalcancuncantina.com/ or https://www.facebook.com/theoriginalcancuncantina/photos/a.120394999557877/157863185811058/?type=3&theater It looks like they are going to be open Wednesdays – Sundays with some of the old schedule, including Ladies’ night on Wednesday, couples’ lessons on Thursdays, and Latin on Sundays. Band on Friday, Country DJ on Saturday on the inside, if I read the schedule posted correctly.
- Line dancing at American Legion Post 148 with Anthony “The Dude” is discontinued until further notice due to the closing of the Legion post. He’s looking for another location.
- Line Dance Cheri in Fredericksbur, along with DJ JD Roberts, is starting a new location this week on Wednesday. It’s at Billikens Smokehouse. This is an outside event. They have a small dance floor, some shade and fans, as well as yard space to dance. She’s going to be starting at 7. 623 Caroline St, Fredericksburg, VA 22401
- Sharon Hume continues dancing at Westminster Moose on Tuesdays & at the Frederick Moose on Thursdays.
- Sandy Garrish is dancing at Hawks club on Tuesdays & Wednesdays, as well as Thursdays in July at The Fallston Barrel House from 7-9pm. This location is at 2403 Belair Rd, Fallston, MD. She’s still dancing on the Boardwalk in Ocean City some days.
Other than the above, I know of nothing that is happening in person. Several instructors are still posting video online or doing live Facebook lessons.
