Hi Everyone,
Wow, it’s been so long since I’ve danced or written a newsletter, I’m not sure I remember how to do either.
It appears that a few things are opening up again. After months of only dancing online, or in parking lots, the Boardwalk in O.C, etc., there are a few places you can dance in person on a regular floor.
Sandy Garrish is back at Hawk’s on Tuesdays & Wednesdays as of 6/23. Dancing 7-10 pm, the cost is $8.00.
You must wear a mask into the hall but it is not required when you're dancing. We will have spacing between tables and please be aware of your space on the dance floor.
If you aren't comfortable with dancing with those not wearing a mask, you may want to wait for just a bit to join back in. Please be respectful of other people decisions and space. We are trying to get back to dancing in person and appreciate your cooperation in keeping everyone safe.430 Riverside Dr. Essex, MD 21221 Sandy at Sandy@Time2LiveBetter.com or443-340-0988;

Sharon Hume is back at the Westminster Moose on Tuesdays, as of 6/23. 7-9pm. 7-7:30 will be for beginners – basic steps, patterns, and some beginner dances. What to expect - Please wear masks until you get to your seat (after which you will no longer be required to wear them in the dance hall)
When you arrive, your temperature will be taken with a "no touch" thermometer
You will sign in, by printing your name clearly and giving a phone number, we will also mark on form that your temperature check was fine :-)
We are opening the full dance floor to allow for as much space as possible to dance (this means that there will be no small groups taken to the side for instruction) but as always please come see me and either i can show you, or i will have someone help you one-on-one.
There will still be tables to sit at! Although please remember that not everyone feels super comfortable yet so please be mindful and give anyone the space that they need
All tables and chairs will be spread out to allow for social distancing
There is NO requirement to wear a mask when in the dance hall. But please do if you would prefer :-) If you are not comfortable yet with being around people who are not wearing masks, this is probably not the best place for you at this time
You are not allowed at the bar, as we navigate through this there will be some bumps in the road but we ask for patience when it comes to being served from the bar...... we are learning 309 Buena Vista Dr. Westminster, MD 21157

Other than those 3, I don’t know of anything else to report. I know Cancun Cantina is gearing up, but have not announced an opening date. The Facebook page for The Original Cancun Cantina says something about Phase 3. Nick’s is planning to reopen, but there is no date set. I believe they are waiting until VA is in Phase 3, and Phase 2 is just getting started.
As far as anything else goes, I haven’t heard or seen anything. Due to the differences in opening in the various counties in the area, some are able to start, others not. The 3 that are opening are in Carroll and Baltimore Counties in MD, which are ahead of PG, Montgomery in MD and N. VA.
So, to those of you who choose to go out, enjoy and stay safe. For the rest of us, we’ll keep waiting.
Linda
